Food & Nutrition Conference 2026

The Food and Nutrition Conference is a national forum that brings together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, private sector actors, and development partners to advance evidence-based dialogue and action on food systems, nutrition, and resilience. The conference provides a platform to share research, practical experiences, and innovations that address food security, malnutrition, climate and environmental pressures, and inclusive economic development, with a strong focus on national priorities and local context. Conference objectives:

  1. Promote evidence-based solutions, aligned with government policy, to improve agricultural productivity, food security and nutrition in Papua New Guinea.
  2. Facilitate dialogue and networking among researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and private sector actors to foster multi-sectoral collaboration and advance food systems transformation.
  3. Highlight scalable innovations in climate-resilient, nutrition-sensitive agriculture and food value chains.
  4. Showcase lessons learned from donor, government, and community-led initiatives to inform future programming and policy development.
  5. Strengthen partnerships among government agencies, research institutions, NGOs, and agribusinesses to build inclusive and sustainable food systems.
  6. ) Support the meaningful participation and leadership of youth, women, and marginalized groups in shaping food systems, by promoting their active roles in production, agribusiness and policy.
